Just when I thought there couldn't possibly be anymore outlandish hood drama that MiMi couldn't brew up out of her head after reading Pretty Bright I and II and Deadly Decisions I and II, she conjures up more delicious debauchery with Nickerson Barbie.Yall, Michelle (well legally she changed it to Barbie) is crazier than a sack full of rabid skunks. Basically she is a high priced call girl, madam and hit woman all rolled into one. Her sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies would impress the most delusional of homicidal lunatics....and I am sure those 88893 voices she hears inside her wig wearing head would agree with me.
Although she has killed people, beat the brakes off of various hoodboogers and can be very mean to her mother, Barbie does have a softer side. Her love and devotion to her best buddy, the resident gossip girl, Miracle and to her boo nicknamed Nephew shows that she does have feelings and actually has the capability to care about others...but if she doesn't like you or you do something to irk her....she gives ZERO cares about taking you out.
I felt this was a pretty good book. Mimi did what a lot of authors fail to do when dealing with a vile character; showed that there is a human side to them....so Barbie wasn't vastly an unlikable character. Her loyalty to Nephew spoke volumes. Speaking of Nephew, brotha might want to invest in a vasectomy. Although his character was cool at times, he had WAY TOO MUCH going on with women. The ending was just trifling as all get out. I can't wait until the sequel.

I loved this book.....it was entertaining....I loved all the characters even the ones that was not so loveable..... Mimi, you did your thing....call me crazy but I thought Barbie was more passionate then crazy.....she just felt everything to the tenth power and reacted...it wouldn't have killed her to pop a pill every now and then though.....I recommend this book...regardless of what genre of book you enjoy reading.......as many books as I read I can pretty much guess how a book will end ........but this time I was totally shocked....I didn't see that coming....can't wait til part 2......btw.....I hated the nickname he called Barbie.......who calls their girl p$$$y.....and what female answers to it.....I'm just sayin
I have to admit I never wanted to read this story because of the Nikki Minaj lookalike on the cover, as I have been seeing it as a suggested purchase for some time now. However I finally decided to read Mimi's story in I'd Rather Be Single which was a prelude to this, I just had to find out more about this mysterious Barbie. I started the book and finished it all in one day, there was no use in trying to put it down cause I just had to know what was going to happen next. Unfortunately I have to wait for part 2, it can't come fast enough. While waiting I guess I'll find out Ms. K.C story in Deadly Decisions, if it's anything like the Nickerson Barbie I'm sure it'll be worth my time.
I bought this book when it was first released and never got around to reading it. I'm mad that I let such an excellent story sit so long! Barbie is one of those over the top pyschos that you love and hate simultaneously. When I started reading I told myself I wouldn't read the next book. But Mimi Renee left me no choice but to continue. Great work Mimi Renee!
While Barbie may truly adore a good Barbie doll and dresses like Barbie, in no way is she truly like Barbie. She is often known as Nickerson Barbie due to the Nickerson projects in which she was raised. Most people know that Barbie is truly demented and in need of serious help. However, by the time other people learn who Barbie truly is it may be too late.
Even though I did not read about Barbie in the previous anthology I'd Rather Be Single, I don't think I missed much of the story. I was able to start at this book and still follow the story. Barbie was truly something special and not in a good way. I enjoyed reading this book and I plan to continue with the series to see just what Barbie does next.
Nickerson Barbie by MiMi Renee, focuses on main character, Michelle AKA Barbie, who enjoys wearing long blond wigs to imitate the doll Barbie. At the age of 8, Barbie started hearing voices in her head. She was instructed to ignore them and pray. As a young adult, Barbie is active in many crimes; which includes, murderer, hustler, pimp, drug traffic, batterer and hit-man. Barbie argues continuous with the voices in her head. Despite her mental health and crimes, she finds love. This is a very fun, well developed and captivating story. The writing is awesome. I especially enjoyed parts related to Barbie's wig collections. My favorite character is Valarie. Her responses to Barbie are hilarious. This book is 5 stars. It is highly recommended. I am anticipating Nickerson Barbie 2. Kudos Author MiMi Renee!
I JUST FINISHED READING THIS BOOK! WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY BUT WOW!! I FIRST READ OF BARBIE'S ANTICS IN "I'D RATHER BE SINGLE." I WAS SO ECXITED WHEN I READ THAT MS.RENEE WAS CONTINUING HER STORY IN "NICKERSON BARBIE."YOU COULDN'T HELP WANTING TO KNOW MICHELLE'S BACKSTORY. LET ME SAY THAT MS.RENEE DID NOT DISSAPPOINT. THIS CHICK IS AN ALL OUT,CERTIFIED,BONAFIED,TRUE-BLUE NUT JOB!! BUT YOU CANT HELP BUT TO LOVE HER.SHE'S SO MISUNDERSTOOD! SHE IS SO CRAZY,THAT IT'S FUNNY! THIS BOOK IS VERY DARK,AND SO DRAMA FILLED,YET AT TIMES COMICAL.SHE CRAZY AS HELL! THE CONVERSATIONS SHE HAS IN HER HEAD ARE SO SCARY!YET SO HILLARIOUS! I WAS CRACKING UP THE WHOLE TIME.I SURE WOULDN'T WANT TO BE ON HER LIST. DEFINATELY A PAGE TURNER,THAT KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT TILL THE VERY END.
